Generation-gap
is a very common word used now-a-days. Today’s students are in no way
similar to the students of yester years.
About 30 to 40
years back the students were expected to be very much obedient and abide by all
the guidance of the teachers. And the students too were almost so.
The students were not allowed to argue or even to express their views
freely.
Today’s scenario is
completely different. The students are bold. They do not have
stage-fear. They talk whatever comes to their mind or rather they speak
their mind. They don’t edit.
In many families
there is only one child or two. The parents’ too give hundred percent
freedoms to their kids [may be because they missed all these in their
childhood]. They want to fulfill all the wishes of their children.
The children of
today have a lot of reasoning, they argue, they ask umpteen numbers of
questions and only when they get fully convinced they accept the same.
Otherwise we will be considered a waste.
We learn how to
operate electronic gadgets only from the children of today- it is an undeniable
fact, all of us should agree. Then who is the teacher and who is the
student? Even computer knowledge is more in students than in teachers –
is it not true?
They are fast in
everything, they have no patience, if they are unable to achieve, they take
everything into heart, and they in no moment take suicide attempts.
The parents suffer
a lot in the process of ‘the up-bringing of their children’. To handle
the children of today is an art yet to be taught/ learnt.
A balance in
showing love and affection or being strict is not yet derived.
I plead, “Oh! The
revered Teachers, kindly handle the students carefully. Kindly try to
understand the students. I agree that the students are behaving bad, most
unruly, even aggressive, adamant, getting spoiled through the social media,
but, you teachers try to guide those students and try to find a solution.
Let you not be the cause of their suicide, let you not be the cause of their becoming
immoral. Some students keep a distance with their own parents but
friendly with their teachers.”
Ministers take
oath, Doctors take oath, the judges and the Government officials take
oath. I request you teachers; help the students to overcome their mental agony,
to overcome any problem they are facing, love affairs or anything else.
Let it be a noble service.
WHO ELSE CAN
PREVENT THE STUDENTS FROM TAKING WORST DECISIONS???
